Colorado Rockies Vs. San Francisco Giants Preview [Predictions, Odds, Schedule, Start Time]

An NL West showdown between the Colorado Rockies and the San Francisco Giants takes place this week as the Rockies try to close the gap from the Los Angeles Dodgers, who swept them 3-0 in a taking place over the weekend.

The Rockies are sitting second in the NL West, 13 games behind the first-place Dodgers. The Giants are hosting this series this week, and are lacking a contention in this year’s playoffs at currently 33-43 over the course of the season, 5-5 in their last 10 and at last place in the NL West.

Before their most recent series against the Dodgers, the Rockies came off a three-win sweep against the Arizona DiamondbacksJon Gray, who led the Rockies against the Diamondbacks, is set to start against the Giants at Oracle Park on Monday. Gray has been hot at home, but has struggled on the road recently, having a 4.67 ERA compared to a 3.47 at Coors Field in Colorado. The Giants are the only team this season to beat Gray on the mound back in April.

While the Giants aren’t on course for the playoffs this year, they have picked up their form in important morale-boosting wins in a 3-2 win against the Dodgers on June 17, and two wins out of three against the Diamondbacks in their most recent series. The Giants are set to start Drew Pomeranz on the hill as he is 2-0 against the Rockies in his career.

SPORTS FIGURES WHO DIED IN 2019- TRIBUTE SLIDESHOW

The Giants are hot at home right now as they are 4-1 in their last five games, while they are 6-0 in their last six games when hosting a first game of the series. With Gray (a right-hander) starting for the Rockies, the Giants are 6-1 in their last seven when facing a starting right-handed pitcher. The Rockies are 18-22 in away games this season, with 3-8 in their last 11 road games when facing a below-.500 team. With the NL Central competing for the Wild Card spots heavily (Chicago Cubs 42-35, Milwaukee Brewers 42-36, St. Louis Cardinals 40-37), the Rockies (40-37) know they need to have a strong July ahead of them for playoff contention.

The Giants host all three games of the series at Oracle Park with the start time sitting at 10:05 p.m. EST. The game will be broadcasted on NSBA and ESPN and can be streamed on the Watch ESPN App.
