The cat managed to reach the warning track before being caught and removed by a member of the grounds crew. Several players, including Cardinals center fielder Dexter Fowler, seemed thoroughly amused by the incident. After this, Molina smacked a grand slam after it to give St. Louis an 8-5 lead and seal the victory for the hosts.
