Three Florida teenagers have been accused of killing professional mixed martial arts fighter Aaron Rajman.

Aaron Rajman murder news

Summer Church, 16, and 18-year-olds Roberto Ortiz and Jace Swinton were held without bail Monday after a Palm Beach County judge charged them as adults with first-degree murder.

Rajman, 25, was killed during a home invasion on July 3.

Church’s mother Judi attended her daughter’s arraignment, and reportedly told local media that police are accusing Summer of orchestrating the attack when her daughter is really an innocent victim who was used to murder Rajman.

She told the Florida Sun-Sentinel that a group of men that included Ortiz and Swinton forced her daughter at gunpoint to get in a car and call Rajman, an Orthodox Jew, to see if he was home.

“They made Summer get in the car, and they made her make that phone call,” Church told the paper.

Judi Church also told the Palm Beach Post that Summer and Rajman met in January at a convenience store, and added that her daughter was dating Swinton at that time.

Church also denied that her daughter was at the scene of Rajman’s assassination. Summer was arrested on Friday as her mother was driving her to school, per the Post.

“She’s not a bad kid,” Judi told the paper. “She’s trying to do good in school this year, and she wants to go to nursing school.”

Ortiz and Swinton have also been charged with home invasion. Police stated a fight broke out after the pair entered Rajman’s home and the fighter was fatally shot.

“This was no random act of violence,” State Attorney Dave Aronberg told CBS affiliate WPEC. “Mr. Rajman was targeted by these defendants, and we intend to seek justice for the victim and his family.”

Rajman was a member of the American Top Team gym and had a 2-2 record since becoming a professional fighter in 2014. He was 8-1 as an amateur.

“I’m grateful they were caught,” Rajman’s girlfriend Emily Imber told the Post. “I hope they get all of them. This has been devastating.”
