The New York Giants have begun talks about potentially trading offensive tackle Ereck Flowers, according to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport.
Flowers, drafted ninth overall by the Giants out of Miami in 2015, struggled significantly last season. He will be 24 on Wednesday, and has started 46 games in his career.

This week, new Giants coach Pat Shurmur said wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. will definitely return to play with the team. The wideout injured his ankle just five weeks into the 2017 season, one of several injuries that hurt the G-Men and just one of the many reasons they finished with a dreadful 3-13 record, one of the worst in the league and one of the weakest in the franchise’s 92-year history.

There has been speculation that the Giants could likely draft a quarterback at No. 2 or at some other top position in the first round of the 2018 draft, as Eli Manning’s position as the team’s starter is rumored to be nearing its end. This offseason, the team has signed former New England Patriots left tackle Nate Solder in free agency.
This week, the Giants also announced that they have acquired punter Riley Dixon in a trade with the Denver Broncos, who in exchange got a conditional 2019 seventh-round draft pick.
