The Kansas City Royals, along with the rest of the baseball world, suffered a devastating loss when it was announced that Terrance Gore died in February at the age of 34 due to cardiac arrest.
Gore was not a household name but a fan favorite with the Royals due to his lightning speed and ability to steal bases. Gore was a member of the 2014 and 2015 Royals World Series teams, winning his first ring in 2015.

Before the Royals’ home opener on Monday, the team offered a tribute to Gore, bringing his family out onto the field and having his 11-year-old son, Zane, throw out the first pitch.

Zane delivered a perfect pitch right down the middle to Gore’s former Royals teammate, Alex Gordon, and received a loud ovation from the crowd.
“It’s a tragic thing to lose a guy at 34 years old, but it was the least we could do for his family,” Royals general manager J.J. Picollo said before the game, fighting back tears.
