John Dorsey, the Browns’ general manager, has not revealed many details on his team’s draft plan thus far. However, he did say he predicted the franchise would select at least four quarterbacks in the first round.
Cleveland had a winless (0-16) season in 2017, and is desperate to rebuild a powerful team, beginning with a QB and an offense.
Besides Mayfield, other names that have been floated by NFL pundits as potential No. 1 picks for the Browns are Wyoming quarterback Josh Allen and USC QB Sam Darnold. UCLA’s Josh Rosen has also been predicted to be a top draft pick.
Dorsey told ESPN in a press conference on Thursday what he seeks most in a passer.
“The only thing I care about is, do guys win?” Dorsey stated. “Does he have accuracy? Does he have a strong arm? Can he throw the ball in the red zone in tight windows? Can he drive the ball? At the end of the game, does he win? That’s what I look for.”
