Former ESPN NBA Reporter Chris Palmer Called A Hypocrite For ‘Burn It All Down’ Tweet About Nationwide Protests
Former ESPN reporter Chris Palmer over the weekend was a subject of criticism for tweets he posted and commented on concerning the nationwide protests following the murder of George Floyd.
Palmer first re-tweeted and commented on a photo of a burning building where he said “Burn that s**t down. Burn it all down.” Palmer later tweeted in response to protestors in his community. “They just attacked our sister community down the street,” he tweeted. “It’s a gated community and they tried to climb the gates. They had to beat them back. Then destroyed a Starbucks and are now in front of my building. Get these animals TF out of my neighborhood. Go back to where you live.” This had some people like Jack Posobiec calling Palmer a hypocrite for his comments.
The first tweet has since been deleted, but Palmer responded to the criticism on his second tweet. “A couple of nights ago I RT’d a picture of a burning building in Minny,” he said. “I did not know it was low income housing for many. That was my mistake. I do not endorse property destruction of any kind. Real protestors don’t loot. Peaceful protest is the only way. Be safe. God Bless.”
Palmer worked for ESPN for 14-years as an NBA reporter.
