Becky Lynch Wins Two Championships In The Main Event Of WrestleMania 35 [VIDEO]

Fans from all 50 states and 68 countries descended upon MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey on Sunday for WrestleMania 35. It was a historic one.

The main event of the WWE’s flagship show was an all-female matchup. A sold-out crowd of 82,265 ate it up and the WWE pulled in $16.9 million, surpassing the previous venue record of $12.3 million set in 2013 at WrestleMania 32, which was held at AT&T Stadium at Texas.

Lynch received praise for her efforts, most notably from fellow countryman and recently retired UFC fighter Conor McGregor, who tweeted: “Congrats to Irelands Becky Lynch, the WWE’s first Champ Champ. Wow! What a match these ladies put on! Ronda Rousey is something special in that ring, as is Charlotte Flair of the Flair dynasty! Stephanie McMahon you are right, I could not do what these athletes do. Or could I…”

Lynch spoke about what the title meant to her after the event.

“Anything is possible now, man,” she said. “Anything. It’s hard to put into words how I’m feeling right now. It’s so overwhelming. I’ve worked for this my entire life, I’ve dreamed about this, I’ve obsessed about this moment and I never knew how I was going to feel.”
“I think I probably had a picture of it but there’s just so much going on in my head right now that I can’t comprehend it,” she added. “I just achieved all my dreams. I did what I said I would do and 80,000 people here supporting me and wanting me to achieve my goals and my dreams. That means the world to me and it’s only beginning.”
However, some fans weren’t pleased with the stars’ performance in the ring. After six hours of action, they expected more. Instead, they found themselves unable to know if the ref was counting when Rousey was pinned by Lynch or if she was even pinned at all or if that was really the way it was supposed to go. The word “botched” was used frequently to describe the ending.
