Los Angeles Dodgers right fielder Yasiel Puig made his return to the lineup on Saturday after a 34 day stint on the DL nursing a left hamstring strain. He went for 1-for-3 with one single and was playing in the outfield for the whole game.

According to Puig, he said he felt pretty good even though he clearly looked like he was running at a slower pace than usual for fly balls and “there were no moments that called for me to run at 100%.” This may seem like enlightening news for the Dodgers who have a NLDS matchup with the New York Mets starting on Friday, with Puig being called up to round out the last of the roster spots for the postseason drive. “He’s saying no. The only thing we can do is trust the player when he says he’s 100 percent,” manager Don Mattingly said. “We didn’t really see him at full speed tonight.”

Puig has also called for a possible stand-in so that healthier players can do their part in the Dodgers advancing throughout the postseason. “Trying to beat the Mets, going on to beat the other teams we’ll encounter, winning the World Series, that’s what most important, not whether I play or not,” Puig stated.
