The New York Yankees will host the Atlanta Braves on Monday night, and here is what you need to know.
This will be the opener of a three-game series. The Yankees (54-27) are coming off an 11-1 home victory over the Boston Red Sox. New York won two of the three games in that series. The Braves (48-34) last beat the St. Louis Cardinals 6-5.

The Yankees and Red Sox (56-29) are tied for the lead in the AL East and have two of the best records in MLB, along with the defending national champion Houston Astros (55-31).

Yankees righty Domingo German (2-4, 5.32 ERA) will start for the hosts on Monday. German boasts 75 strikeouts this season. Opposing him will be Atlanta’s right-hander Anibal Sanchez (3-2, 2.68 ERA), who has struck out 44 batters this year.
