San Francisco Giants 2026 MLB Season Outlook: Schedule & Tickets

The Giants ended 2025 with a .500 record, missing the postseason for the fourth consecutive season.

Rafael Devers was acquired in a trade with the Red Sox in June for Kyle Harrison, Jordan Hicks, James Tibbs III and Jose Bello. Prior to the deal, San Francisco started the season with a 41-29 record; after the Devers trade, the Giants won only four games the remainder of June and finished July with a 9-15 record. Former manager Bob Melvin was fired after the season’s end, after failing to capitalize on the blockbuster move. Tony Vitello was named manager on October 22, 2025.

Devers finished 2025 with 20 home runs, 51 RBIs and 79 hits on a .236 batting average. Reliever Camilo Doval was sent to the Yankees at the trade deadline in exchange for a prospect haul.

The offense batted .235 last season, placing them 25th in the majors for batting average. They also placed 19th in home runs with 173 and 17th in RBIs with 672. San Francisco’s pitching finished tenth in the majors in ERA at 3.82, 17th in strikeouts with 1,358, and 14th in runs allowed with 684.

Willy Adames became the first Giant since Barry Bonds in 2004 to hit 30 home runs in a season. Adames also batted in 87 runners, stole 12 bases and recorded a .225 batting average. Third baseman Matt Chapman was on the injured list in 2025 due to right-hand inflammation, despite multiple stints. Chapman finished the season with 21 home runs and 61 RBIs, hitting .231. Jung Hoo Lee had the team’s batting average with a .266 batting average, while Wilmer Flores recorded a .241 batting average.

Logan Webb was a league leader in strikeouts with 224, and innings pitched with 207 – Webb also recorded a 3.22 ERA and tallied a 15-11 record on the mound. Despite a 4-11 record, Justin Verlander maintained an ERA under four and struck out 137 batters.

Ex-Royals pitcher Logan Martin was traded to San Francisco on November 11 for Mason Black, while Adrian Houser signed a two-year deal on December 19. On January 30, 2026, outfielder Harrison Bader signed a two-year deal, while Luis Arráez signed a one-year deal on February 10. Other additions include Michael Fulmer and Joey Lucchesi.

The Giants hope to be a fringe-playoff team based on their latest roster additions. This task will be challenging since the Dodgers are still an elite team, and the Padres can’t be fully counted out despite concerns about their finances and roster regression. Webb, Devers and Chapman are expected to be key contributors to the team, as they bring elite abilities to perform consistently throughout the season. Expect them to record at least 84 wins if the bullpen plays well and the additions pay off.
