Wife Of Atlanta Braves’ Sean Rodriguez Shares Positive Updates After Family’s Deadly Car Crash
Less than one week after the fatal crashes that claimed the lives of Dominican stars Yordano Ventura and Andy Marte, Atlanta Braves infielder Sean Rodriguez and his family were injured in a deadly wreck on Saturday afternoon in Miami.
An SUV that Rodriguez, 31, was driving was T-boned by a stolen police car in the violent crash that killed the unidentified driver of the police cruiser.
Rodriguez was not gravely harmed, although his wife Giselle and their two young children (ages 2 and 8) were hospitalized but remain in stable condition, at least according to Giselle’s Twitter updates:
Thank you all for prayers! Please Please continue to pray for us! Gogo is still in the hospital with thankfully only stitches and a cast.

I’m in the hospital with a broken femur & tibia. I’m going into surgery for my wrist tomorrow. We are so grateful to be alive!

Rodriguez signed a two-year, $11.5 million deal with the Braves in November after playing two seasons with the Pittsburgh Pirates. Following his crash, players and organizations all around the MLB expressed their support:
Our thoughts and prayers are with the health and well-being of Sean Rodriguez and his family as they recover from a car accident in Miami.

Rodriguez is also a gifted utility player who played seven different positions for the Pirates last season– all but pitcher and catcher– and posted a career-high .270 batting average.
