An all-out brawl began between the Arizona Cardinals and San Francisco 49ers in Santa Clara on Sunday after Antoine Bethea hit 49ers quarterback C.J. Beathard.
Three players were tossed from the game as a result: 49ers running back Carlos Hyde, Cardinals defensive lineman Frostee Rucker and Cardinals linebacker Haasan Reddick. The fight broke out with less than four minutes remaining in the contest.
”I was playing football,” Bethea said. ”He was coming to me. He slid late and I tackled him and the rest is history.”
Hyde is San Francisco’s leading receiver with nine catches for 84 yards.

Arizona won the game 20-10 to improve to 4-4, while the 49ers (0-9) remain winless.
Another scuffle also occurred between the Jacksonville Jaguars and Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday. Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green and Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey were both ejected for quarreling. Ramsey pushed Green, and the wideout countered by wrapping the cornerback in a headlock and punching his helmet
Meanwhile, Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans drew a personal foul but was not tossed for blindsiding New Orleans Saints cornerback Marshon Lattimore after a play. Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston poked Lattimore’s helmet, causing the defender to shove him. That is when Evans came in and knocked Lattimore to the ground from behind.
The Cardinals next host the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday, while the hopeless 49ers will visit the equally-troubled New York Giants (1-7) on Sunday.
