WATCH: Leonard Williams Breaks Up Dispute With Man Who Appears To Be Teammate Darron Lee
New York Jets defensive end Leonard Williams had to come to the rescue at Governors Ball Music Festival in order to end a confrontation between a man and woman over the weekend.
Recently circulated video however shows that the man Williams removed from the incident was linebacker and teammate Darron Lee.
The video, originally released on Twitter by user @gunnerpunner, has been picked up by several other media outlets, including USA Today, Sports Illustrated, Deadspin and Bleacher Report.

In the video, the 6-foot-5, 300-pound Williams forcibly removes the man, who was unidentified at the time, from the scene. The connection was made due to an Instagram post involving Williams and Lee, who was wearing the same outfit as the man picked up and removed in the video.
According to the Twitter user, the man was shouting at the woman and started to “manhandle her.” The man would continue to prolong the incident despite bystanders attempting to help until Williams came along to diffuse the situation.
The Jets organization is aware of the situation, and a spokesperson released this statement on Monday: “We are aware of the reports, we are taking them seriously and we are looking into the specifics of the situation. We will have no further comment at this time.”
