Texas Rangers’ Globe Life Field Will Host Concert Series In Its Parking Lot
The Texas Rangers were expected to debut their new ballpark, Globe Life Field, at the start of the 2020 MLB season. That has been for obvious pushed back since the season has not begun as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. That doesn’t mean that the stadium won’t be used for other things.
Well at least its parking lot will be used. It was announced on Tuesday that numerous Texas-based artists and bands will participate in the Concert In Your Car series from June 4-7. Some of the artists/bands include Pat Green, Eli Young Band, Whisky Meyers, Kevin Fowler, and the Josh Abbott Band, among others.
Each artist or group will do an hour-long acoustic set, in front of 400 vehicles in the ballpark’s parking lot. According to officials, the lot can hold 800 to 1,000 vehicles, but because of social distancing, the number of vehicles that will be allowed in will be limited. All attendees will be required to stay in their cars and listen to the music through local FM radio. Tickets will cost $40 and will have to be purchased in advance.
The $1.2 billion stadium is situated next two the Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium, and was expected to host numerous events outside of Rangers games, all of which have been rescheduled.
