Steelers’ Antonio Browns Posts Coach Mike Tomlin’s Angry Speech About Patriots On Facebook Live

Rarely does one ever get a look inside NFL locker rooms, at least not extended footage of interactions between coaches and players.

Steelers’ Antonio Browns Posts Coach Mike Tomlin’s Angry Speech About Patriots

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown did just that, however, following his team’s 18-16 Divisional Round victory over the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. Using Facebook, Brown live-streamed 17 minutes of action inside the Steelers locker room, a video that included coach Mike Tomlin’s profanity-laced speech to the team.

Tomlin emphasized how the New England Patriots have a head start in preparations for Sunday’s AFC Championship Game against Pittsburgh after defeating the Houston Texans 34-16 on Saturday.

“When you get to this point in the journey, man, not a lot needs to be said. Let’s say very little moving forward. Let’s start our preparations. We just spotted these a–h—- a day and a half. They played yesterday. Our game got moved to tonight. We’re going to touch down at 4 o’clock in the f—ing morning. So be it,” Tomlin said in the video. “We’ll be ready for their a–. But you ain’t got to tell them we’re coming.

Tomlin continued: “Keep a low profile, and let’s get ready to ball like this up again here in a few days and be right back at it. That’s our story.”

After the coach spoke, a few other voices could be heard.

“Keep cool on social media. This is about us, nobody else, man,” one said.

The video had over 900,000 views just hours after it aired. It was removed from Brown’s Facebook page Monday morning.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Brown could be fined by the NFL for the video for violating the league’s social media policy, which prohibits players from posting messages on any platforms 90 minutes before kickoff and through post-game interviews.

Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was asked about Brown’s Facebook Live post in his weekly interview with WEEI sports radio. After laughing at the question, Brady stated: “That’s against I think our team policy. I don’t think that would go over well with our coach.”

In particular, Brady said coach Bill Belichick’s policy is that his team shouldn’t “show anything that should be private.”

The QB went on: “When we’re inside of our stadium or inside of our walls there has to be a degree of privacy,” he said. “What’s done in the locker room should stay in the locker room.”

Brown has already drawn attention this season after being flagged for ‘twerking’ or other excessive celebrations on several of his touchdowns.
