The New England Patriots have been through a very trying and emotional season even though they were undefeated leading up to Sunday night’s matchup against the Denver Broncos. Injuries to Dion Lewis, Julian Edelman and Danny Amendola have plagued the Patriot offense and seeing quarterback Tom Brady turning to other receivers who are stepping up. But a bigger even scare happened late in the fourth quarter to his prized receiver in tight end Rob Gronkowski.
Gronkowski suffered an extremely painful knee injury that required him to be carted off the field. Today, the official injury was ruled a bruised right knee and will have the tight end sidelined for a couple of weeks. But following the game last night, people took to social media immediately and a #PrayForGronk hashtag went viral.
