President Donald Trump has spoken about Tiger Woods’ car crash.
“I feel so bad. He’s got some difficulty – there was an accident, and that’s all I know,” Trump said. “A very close friend of mine, he’s an amazing person, an amazing man. But some difficulty. I don’t want to talk about it.”
Trump has been friends with Woods for a long time. The two took a picture after Woods won the WGC-Cadillac Championship in 2013 at Trump National Doral in Florida. Trump gave Woods the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2019. Woods is currently dating Donald Trump Jr.’s ex-wife, Vanessa.

Woods’ car rolled over in Jupiter, Florida, at about 2 p.m. Woods took a Breathalyzer test, which came back negative. However, police reported that he looked visibly under the influence. Police asked him to take a urine test, which he refused. He was arrested for DUI and refusing to take a lawful test. His mugshot showed bloodshot eyes.
If Woods was driving under the influence, it wouldn’t be the first time. He was previously arrested in 2009 and 2017 for DUI. After his 2017 accident, he told reporters he would seek professional help.
For a while, it seemed like the substance abuse issues were behind Woods. However, in 2021, he got into a non-DUI-related crash. The injuries nearly killed him, and it took him over 15 months to fully recover.
Woods had to go back on pain medication after the accident. Although there were no reports of him falling back into substance abuse after his 2021 accident, a relapse is always possible.
Woods has pleaded not guilty to DUI charges.
