Patriots Footballs Were Randomly Checked During Game
Ever since the New England Patriots were accused of deflating footballs during last year’s AFC Championship game against the Indianapolis Colts, the NFL has stated that every team would be randomly checked each week to see if any football is below the official weight a football can be before its use in a NFL game. NFL rules states that a football must be inflated within 12.5-13.5 pounds per square inch.
The Patriots were next on the list yesterday during their game against the Tennessee Titans yesterday, in which NFL officials weighed footballs before, at halftime of, and after the game. According to NFL Network producer Lisa Kraus Edwards, this was the first time the Patriots have been randomly checked since the “DeflateGate” allegations rose last year.
The Patriots seemed to pass the test for they put away the Titans in a 33-16 win in Foxboro yesterday.
