For the fourth time in a span of six days, the Boston Red Sox have moved their roster around, particularly their beleaguered pitching staff.
The team recalled left-hander Henry Owens, who will start on Sunday night against the Houston Astros. The Red Sox also added right-handed reliever Pat Light from Triple A Pawtucket.
Lefthander Roenis Elias and righthander Noe Ramirez were optioned back to Triple A after Saturday’s game.
This will be Light’s, 25, very first time on the major-league roster. A supplemental first-round (37th overall) pick in 2012, the 6-foot-5 Light appeared in five games for Pawtucket, giving up three runs on three hits in 6 2/3 innings for a 4.05 ERA. He struck out 10 and walked three, and opponents are hitting just 0.130 against him. He became a reliever after the 2014 season.
