The NBA season starts Tuesday night at 8 p.m. EST, as the reigning champion Toronto Raptors take on the New Orleans Pelicans.
The game at 10:30 p.m. EST will be an in-city rivalry game between the Los Angeles Lakers, who now boast Anthony Davis, and the Los Angeles Clippers, who have both Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. The summer had many players move around and brings many question marks for teams around the league. How will players mesh with their new teams?
Every team will have 82 games to figure out how the team chemistry will flourish and if the pieces will fit. It will be very interesting to see how players like Anthony Davis fits with LeBron James and the Lakers, or the pairing of Russell Westbrook and Chris Paul, two ball-dominant guards, will mesh on the Houston Rockets.
NBA week 1’s power rankings for this season are out now, written by analyst John Schumann. The Milwaukee Bucks lead the pack behind MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo. Behind them are the LA Clippers, Denver Nuggets, Philadelphia 76ers, and LA Lakers to round out the top five.
