By the end of opening day, Spieth topped all players at -6 and held a seven-stroke lead over Woods with a one-over-par 73. Spieth had five consecutive birdies in Round 1. The Masters marks the return to competitive golf of PGA legend Woods, who had been sidelined due to injuries. Woods also underwent a rehabilitation program and took medication in the months following his May 2017 arrest for driving under the influence.

The second round is scheduled to start on Friday morning at 8:30am EST.
