By the end of opening day, Spieth topped all players at -6 and held a seven-stroke lead over Woods with a one-over-par 73. Spieth had five consecutive birdies in Round 1. The Masters marks the return to competitive golf of PGA legend Woods, who had been sidelined due to injuries.
