Marshawn Lynch In Talks With Seattle Seahawks On A Return To The Team

After coming out of retirement late last season to play for the Seattle Seahawks, Marshawn Lynch says that his agent has been in talks with the organization in Lynch coming back to the team.

“Well, it’s almost on that ‘expect the unexpected,’” Lynch told ESPN’s Scott Van Pelt on Monday. “But just as far as right now, what I do know is, Imma keep it solid. My agent [Doug Hendrickson] has been in talks with Seattle, so like I said, we’ll see what happens. If it works out and I get back up there, it is what it is.”

The 34-year old Lynch, who is currently a free agent, played in three games last season for Seattle after the two top running backs [Chris Carson and Rashaad Penny] on the Seahawks depth chart went down with season-ending injuries. In those games, Lynch received 30 carries, rushed for 67 yards, and four touchdowns.

Carson is expected to be ready to go for the start of the season, as he is recovering from a hip injury. Penny is expected to miss the start of the season recovering from knee surgery. The organization has made it clear that they want to add another veteran running back to their roster to back-up Carson and Penny.
