Malik Beasley’s Professional Career Could Be Over After Getting Indicted For Betting On His Games
Malik Beasley has been indicted in a federal sports-betting case in connection with an alleged scheme. It marks one of the more significant gambling scandals to hit professional basketball in recent years. Beasley is among six people charged following an investigation led by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York.
According to the indictment, Beasley allegedly agreed to manipulate his on-court performance during multiple games while playing for the Milwaukee Bucks in the 2023-24 NBA season.

There were times when, while watching games, Beasley would go down the court and score two points to cover a spread, even when the game was out of reach—raising obvious suspicions.
Beasley’s nine-year NBA career could now be in jeopardy. He has claimed that former NBA player Ed Davis loaned him money to influence his on-court performance.
Beasley now faces multiple federal charges, including conspiracy to commit wire fraud and money laundering. Davis and several other defendants were arrested, while authorities said Beasley and his NBA agent had not yet been taken into custody at the time of the announcement.
The NBA has not issued a public statement regarding the indictments. The league has taken a strong stance against gambling issues in recent years, especially following several high-profile investigations into players’ betting activity.
The indictment contains allegations by prosecutors, and Beasley is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court. The case will move through the federal court system in the coming months and could have major implications for everyone involved.
