Despite reaching the World Series in Queens, Mets‘ bench coach Bob Geren will be wearing a different uniform in the Spring according to FoxSports’ Ken Rosenthal.
Geren was a candidate for the Dodgers‘ manager job, but the club opted to hire former Red Sox hero Dave Roberts. Geren will now move west to serve as Roberts’ bench coach, the same position he held in New York.
Geren managed the Oakland Athletics before joining the Mets in 2012; his new boss, Dodgers general manager Farhan Zaidi, was part of the A’s front office at the time.
