Kevin Durant is one of the three best basketball players in the world. But that doesn’t mean he’s immune to criticism. He just doesn’t take it well.
His burner accounts were well documented in 2018. It seemed ridiculous that a perennial All-Star felt he had to defend himself on Twitter with fake accounts. Then, last week an on-court fight with Draymond Green and the suspension that followed left the team with a 0-3 record in their Texas road trip.
But, in the second game of the three, it appears that KD lost it. During the first quarter of the game against the Dallas Mavericks, fans heckled him. It appears that they were calling him names like “cupcake” and other insults. Durant tried to complain to the refs but the fans were not removed.
Then, things escalated. Durant came over and said, “Watch the f—ing game and shut the f— up.” The fans laughed it off and watched their team win by three points.

Now, video of the incident appears to have surfaced.
Durant has since been fined $25,000 for “directing inappropriate language toward a fan.”

The insult may have gotten to Durant because of a Russell Westbrook post after Durant chose to leave the Oklahoma City Thunder and join the record-breaking Golden State Warriors. He even called it “the toughest road.” Westbrook posted a picture of cupcakes, saying, “HAPPY 4th YALL….??????.” Fans then took to calling Durant a cupcake.
