Conor McGregor continues to dominate headlines as speculation grows over the former UFC superstar’s return to the octagon.

McGregor is scheduled to fight Max Holloway on July 11 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. McGregor was one of the UFC’s biggest superstars.

This week, Jimmy Fallon hosted McGregor on The Tonight Show. The host was attacked on social media for the decision due to the fighter’s conviction on assault charges in Ireland.

“I’m excited,” McGregor said. “Five years out of the game. I’m ready to rock. You have to be calm; you have to be composed. You have to trust your training and your discipline. There’s no hiding in the Octagon.”

A comeback seemed imminent in 2024, when McGregor was scheduled to fight Michael Chandler after the two had coached opposite each other on The Ultimate Fighting Championship’s The Ultimate Fighting Championship. However, injuries and scheduling issues prevented the bout from taking place, leaving McGregor’s return to the octagon in question.

McGregor’s career accomplishments remain impressive. He became the first fighter in UFC history to simultaneously hold championships in two weight classes and headlined some of the biggest pay-per-view events in the sport’s history. His victories over fighters like José Aldo, Eddie Alvarez and Donald Cerrone helped establish him as one of the most influential athletes MMA has ever seen.

McGregor also fought Floyd Mayweather Jr. in a high-profile boxing match, losing to Mayweather, who earned his 50th career win. McGregor remains an unpredictable and ambitious athlete, willing to take on any challenge he sets his mind to.
