Head coach Robert Saleh is bringing a familiar face to his New York Jets, as the team plans to sign former third overall pick defensive lineman Solomon Thomas to a one-year deal.
The Stanford product was drafted third by the San Francisco 49ers in 2017, and he played for Saleh in SF from 2017 to 2020. Thomas spent the 2021 season in Las Vegas with the Raiders, where he tallied 34 combined tackles, two forced fumbles, 12 QB hits, and a career-high 3.5 sacks off the bench.
In 65 career games, the 26-year-old has recorded 129 combined tackles, 9.5 sacks, 19 tackles for loss, and 35 QB hits.
