Jets Making Noise To Lure Aaron Rodgers – But Will It Be Enough To Convince Him?

The New York Jets look poised to make at least a play for Aaron Rodgers – but it remains to be seen if it will actually come to fruition.

Owner Woody Johnson was frustrated with how the season-ending, as the Jets went winless in the last six games.

According to reports, the billionaire said that the quarterback was the “missing piece” and that he was willing to spend money on a veteran.

To make things more interesting now, the Jets have brought in Nathaniel Hackett as its offensive coordinator, who will replace Mike LaFleur.

While Hackett was a disastrous head coach with the Denver Broncos, he does have a history with Rodgers.

While did not call plays for the Green Bay Packers, he clearly develop a relationship with him.

In fact, Rodgers went as far as saying he didn’t want him to leave for a better job unless he went with Hackett.

Additionally, the Jets hired Keith Carter as its new offensive line coach.

But now it remains to be seen what Rodgers will want going forward.

But according to reports, he does not want to be a part of a rebuild – which could be the direction the Packers decide to take this offseason.

Plus, at some point, the Packers need to find out what it has in 2020 first-round pick Jordan Love, who has seen limited snaps in the NFL.

So it would make sense if both Rodgers and the organization want to part ways.

However, a move would still have to make sense for both sides.

For example, the Packers are unwilling to trade Rodgers to an NFC team, reports ESPN insider Adam Schefter.

Additionally, the Packers would want at least two first-round picks for the 39-year-old, according to Peter King of NBC Sports.

And he thinks the Jets owner would happily pay the price.

If that’s the case, it remains to be seen if the Jets will be able to convince Rodgers that the team is his best shot to win him another Super Bowl.

The Jets have a ton of talent on offense including likely rookie of the year (ROY) wide receiver Garrett Wilson and Breece Hall, who may have won the award if he didn’t suffer an ACL tear.

Plus, the Jets had one of the best defensive units last year, as Sauce Gardner will likely win the defensive ROY.

But all the ingredients seem to be there to convince Rodgers from player personnel to the coaching staff.

Now it remains to be seen if Rodgers and the Packers agree that it’s time to move on.

The Las Vegas Raiders have also been rumored around Rodgers.

In 2023, Rogers’ new three-year contract worth $150 million will kick in.
