It All Comes Down To Tuesday For USA After Impressive Performance Against England

The USA’s men’s soccer team put together a solid effort against England – but it will find itself in a must-win situation on Tuesday.

This World Cup, the team was regarded as one of the youngest teams to qualify – leaving many fans and pundits not knowing what to expect.

But the USA is showing what it’s capable of.

Now, it was disappointing to say the least when the U.S. allowed a late tying goal at the 82-minute mark in its World Cup opener against Wales.

But it was also impressive to see how the USA responded against one of the favorites in the tournament.

In Friday’s game, USA was +650 underdogs going into the game against England.

However, it didn’t appear that way for the most part during the game.

USA outshot England 10-8 in the game.

While only one was placed on target, the team generated quite a few high-danger looks including an attempt that hit the crossbar in the first half.

The only thing that was missing was of course the only statistic that counts – goals.

But still, the effort by team USA can’t be overlooked and a lot of Americans probably would have signed up for a tie against a powerhouse like England.

That said, it would be a major letdown if USA fails to beat Iran on Tuesday.

As things stand, USA is sitting one point behind Iran with just two points in its group.

So a tie won’t do it and the club will need at least one goal in 90 minutes to move on.

Its only tally of the tournament thus far has come from Timothy Weah in the opener against Wales.

USA will need to take risks and do a better job of getting shots on target.

Tuesday’s game against Iran will take place at 2 pm Eastern Time and can be watched on Fox via  cable and the app.
