Fan Recreates Old NBA On NBC Finals Promo With Lebron James And Steph Curry

Since both the NBA and NHL Finals decided to go on a week long hiatus, there has been very little to actually talk about. Of course, there are contract extensions and random scandals, but everyone has been patiently waiting for these series.

And one fan, in particular, decided to recreate the old NBA on NBC basketball promo, but modernized it with Lebron James‘ Cleveland Cavaliers and Steph Curry’s Golden State Warriors. And as a result, Ryan Etycheson’s recreation went viral.

ABC needs to seriously step there game.  I was going to watch the series either way, but this promo did more in 90 seconds than ABC’s entire ad campaign.

The actual narration and non-modern shots were lifted from the 2001 NBA on NBC finals between the Los Angeles Lakers and Philadelphia 76ers, according to the YouTube video’s description. Obviously, the “David” and “Goliath” storyline was referring to Allen Iverson and Shaquille O’Neal.

As for the finals, it finally begins tomorrow 9 pm EST. It is difficult to say who will win because the teams are so evenly matched, but personally I believe Lebron will bring the first championship to Cleveland in over 50 years.
