Ex-Cardinals WR Andre Roberts, Falcons Agree To One-Year, $1.8M Deal
Andre Roberts has found a new NFL team.
Andre Roberts Signs One-Year Deal with Falcons
The free-agent wide receiver signed a one-year contract with the Atlanta Falcons early Tuesday. The deal is reportedly worth $1.8 million and includes $750,000 guaranteed, a source informed of the situation told NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport.
Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle confirmed the signing.
The Falcons mark Roberts’ fourth team in five seasons. The 29-year-old spent the 2016 season with the Detroit Lions. He played his first four seasons with the Arizona Cardinals before spending two seasons with the Washington Redskins. Roberts, an eighth-year veteran, made 14 catches for 188 yards and a touchdown in 16 games last season in Detroit. He added two touchdowns on just 20 punt returns and 747 yards on 33 kickoff returns.
Not surprised Andre Roberts left DET. Had his moments, can still be a quality No. 5 receiver. Wildly inconsistent as return man.

In all, the wideout has caught 243 passes for 2,899 yards and 14 touchdowns in his career.
His best offensive season came in 2012 with the Cardinals, when he recorded 64 catches for 759 yards and five touchdowns, all career highs.
In other NFL News, the Los Angeles Rams signed Buffalo Bills guard Ryan Groy to a two-year offer sheet worth $5 million with $3.5 million guaranteed on March 21, a source informed of the situation told Rapoport. The Bills have the option of matching the offer to the restricted free agent.
Rapoport also stated the Seattle Seahawks are interested in free-agent tight end Jared Cook.
