Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Nelson Agholor proved this week he knows how to take criticism from fans, especially when there are larger issues at stake.
Agholor, 26, struggled to catch passes during the Eagles’ 27-24 home loss against the Detroit Lions on Sunday, and one fan couldn’t help but take a jab at the former first-round pick after performing a heroic act in Philadelphia.
Hakim Laws, a Philadelphia native, helped rescue people from a burning building on the city’s west side early Monday morning and was interviewed by a local news station about the intensity of the scene. Laws described what he did to save children from the fire and made an analogy to mock Agholor’s latest receiving performance.
“My man just started throwing babies out the window,” Laws told ABC-6 in Philadelphia. “And we was catching ‘em, unlike Agholor and his mishaps, I’d like to put that out there.”

Agholor responded to Laws’ dig at him with a classy tweet in which he thanked the fan for being a “hero in the community.” The wide receive also invited Laws and his family to attend the Eagles’ next home game.
Agholor dropped multiple passes during his first few seasons with the Eagles — whom he joined in 2015 — but has since improved. He helped lead the team to a Super Bowl victory after the 2017 season.
