Cam Newton Refuses To Apologize For Super Bowl Blunders, Calls Himself A ‘Sore Loser’

Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton appeared for his exit interview on Tuesday morning, the first time he has talked to the press since his stinging 24-10 loss to the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl 50 on Sunday.

Cam Newton Calls Himself A ‘Sore Loser’

During the interview, Newton did not appear to show any regrets or apologize for his decision to leave the press conference that followed Sunday’s big game just a few minutes after it began. The Panthers QB also recognized, however, that he does not take losing very well.

“I’ve been on record to say I’m a sore loser,” Newton said. “Who likes to lose? You show me a good loser, and I’ll show you a loser.”

Newton, who is an MVP winner, also stated that he refuses to conform or to change himself to appease people. He was also asked why he didn’t dive on the ball during a critical fumble that came late in the fourth quarter of the Super Bowl. Newton responded by saying he didn’t want to risk a potential leg injury.
