Alexander Petrovic, Evander Kane Fight 3 Times, Get Ejected From Panthers’ 7-4 Win Over Sabres

On Tuesday, the Florida Panthers visited the Buffalo Sabres and ended up with a 7-4 road win at the First Niagara Center in Buffalo. Throughout the game, the Panthers’ Alex Petrovic and the Sabres’ Evander Kane kept piling on penalty minutes until the referees said enough.

Alexander Petrovic, Evander Kane Fight 3 Times

Petrovic and Kane fought each other three times and combined for 58 penalty minutes, all of which were served due to offenses committed against each other. After dropping their gloves for the third time to fight one another, were ejected from the game with 7:57 left to play and Florida up 6-3.

The judges, fans, and social media all seemed to agree that although the Sabres lost the match, Kane handily won all three fights. Petrovic, nevertheless, did end the game with a Gordie Howe hat trick, which is achieved when a player scores a goal, records an assist, and gets into a fight all in the same game. Kane also scored a goal but did not secure a Gordie Howe due to no assist.

“I thought I’d try to get the crowd back into it a bit and kind of set the tone moving forward,” Kane told the media after the game, and then added “I just think we have to have a tougher mentality at home. I think that’s what we’ve been lacking here a little bit.”
