Brooks Koepka Criticized For Lack Of Passion For The Ryder Cup
The 31-year-old Ryder Cup team USA player, Brooks Koepka, has been publicly criticized by broadcaster Paul Azinger after comments he made to Golf Digest.
Koepka injured his wrist a couple of weeks ago by hitting roots while swinging in the rough. During an interview about the injury, Koepka expressed his frustration with the Ryder Cup, He believes that the event disrupts an individual player’s customs from regular events. He then revealed — regarding his wrist — that he is “feeling good.” “Been doing rehab, doing everything I need to do to be ready for the Cup. I’ll be there ready to play,” he said.
Although Koepka pledged to play at the Cup, Azinger does not think his attitude or approach is acceptable for a team USA golfer. Anzinger is a former captain for team USA at the Ryder Cup and is as passionate about the event — if not more so — as any current player. “I’m not sure he loves the Ryder Cup that much, if he doesn’t love it he should relinquish his spot and get people there who do love it,” Anzinger said.
