With injuries affecting the Pittsburgh Steelers throughout the season, the last thing the team needed was losing another star player since they already lost star running back Le’Veon Bell to a season-ending MCL injury. Also, Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger suffered an ankle sprain last week but was deemed active to be backup for starting quarterback Landry Jones during a division game against the Cleveland Browns in Pittsburgh yesterday. Jones was hurt in the third quarter with an ankle injury of his own, thus forcing Roethlisberger to come into the game.
A definite scare within the Steelers organization came toward the end of the game when Roethlisberger threw a 56-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Antonio Brown, who ended his touchdown run with a front flip to the end zone.
The landing of the flip could not have been more perfect, but definitely had some repercussions from both Roethlisberger and head coach Mike Tomlin, who in the past have told players to not do the front flip as it will cause injury.
