After Making Over $1 Billion, Floyd Mayweather May Have Passport Revoked Due To $7.25 Million Tax Debt

Boxing legend Floyd Mayweather may have his passport revoked due to a $7.25 million tax bill that was left unpaid.

Mayweather, 49, has made over $1 billion throughout his boxing career, but his most recent opponent is the IRS, which is threatening to revoke his passport.

The boxer has a couple of options for paying off the debt he owes the IRS, the first being to pay the full amount. He could also come to an agreement with the Department of Justice on an installment.

Another option is to claim his tax debt isn’t collectible due to financial hardship, theft or bankruptcy.

Mayweather was informed of this debt about a month before he announced a scheduled exhibition fight in Athens, Greece, against kickboxer Mike Zambidis. This now puts the exhibition scheduled for June 27 in jeopardy because Mayweather cannot leave the country.

The debts have been piling up for Mayweather since 2025 after he stopped paying rent on his luxury condo, but he was posting pictures of himself with stacks of cash on his social media pages, saying, “I just be minding my business!”

Mayweather is also being sued for failing to pay a bill for a private jet that he used to go to the Caribbean. The bill was $105,690, which he did not pay for his trip to Turks & Caicos.
