The incident stemmed from the police receiving a phone call from a 24-year-old female victim, “who stated she was assaulted by her boyfriend… Officers found probable cause to arrest the subject.”

Soon after the arrest was reported, Nick Saban and Alabama released a statement cutting ties with the defensive tackle. The Alabama head coach gave Taylor a second chance after he was dismissed from Georgia following an arrest for “felony aggravated assault and family violence.”

“I’m not sorry for giving him an opportunity. I’m sorry for the way things worked out,” Saban told reporters. “I’m not apologizing for the opportunity that we gave him. I wanted to try to help the guy make it work. It didn’t work… But we’re not apologizing for what we did, and we’re going to continue to create opportunities for people in the future and we’ll very, very closely evaluate anyone’s character that we allow in the program.”

Two days later, the female victim called the police department to recant her previous accusation.

“On March 30th, 2015, the female contacted investigators and stated that she wanted to recant her statements about the previous domestic violence incidents and that Taylor did not harm her,” the latest statement said. “The female was interviewed on March 31st, 2015 and maintained that she had lied about the previous incidents. Based on her statements that she had fabricated the stories investigators charged the female with False Reporting to Law Enforcement. She was placed in the county jail and released after posting bond”

There were visible marks on her neck and her apartment appeared in a state of disarray when the cops investigated, so there were grounds for the arrest.

At the moment, Taylor’s charges is under further investigation and has not been thrown out yet. On top of this, Nick Saban and Alabama have not released anything regarding the defensive tackle’s chance of rejoining the team.
