For the third time in recent memory, the Arizona Diamondbacks are changing their aesthetic. After abandoning the Randy Johnson-era purple and teal color scheme, the club shifted to a more desert-based color palate of red, sand, and white. On Thursday, they revealed they would be keeping those colors, albeit with some modifications.

The most noticeable addition is several swatches of diamond pattern, meant to evoke snake skin. These will appear on the shoulders and sides of jerseys, the back of pant legs, and even around the top of the team’s caps.

The club will also be modifying their road uniform. While virtually every team in the league uses a pale gray top on the road, the D-backs are leaning towards the darker side of the spectrum. The new shade of gray will border on charcoal and be accented by red and black highlights. There will also be an alternate with home jersey with teal highlights and an alternate road uniform that remains dark gray, but swaps the red piping for teal.

And fear not fans of the classic purple look, the team will also be wearing that uniform for Throwback Thursday games.
