Celtics Host Pistons On Tuesday Night
The Celtics (4-2) are fourth in the Eastern Conference after beating the third-place Pistons (4-1) 109-89 in Detroit on Saturday. Boston also beat Oklahoma City on Thursday. Meanwhile, the Pistons — led by star power forward Blake Griffin — won their first four games of the season against Brooklyn, Chicago, Philadelphia & Cleveland before falling to the Celtics.
In Detroit on Saturday, Boston’s Daniel Theis and Marcus Morris combined for 32 points and 16 rebounds. Jaylen Brown and Gordon Hayward added 19 and 15 points, respectively.
Griffin, on the other hand, struggled significantly on Saturday. After exploding for an amazing 50 points against the 76ers last week, the former Los Angeles Clippers forward managed just seven points for his new team against the Celtics. Griffin went 2-of-13 from the floor and missed all four of his 3-point attempts. He also had six rebounds in 30 minutes of play.
