For the first time in 20 years, iconic Oriole Park and Camden Yards will change its dimensions prior to the 2022 MLB season.

With its opening in 1992 triggering a retro trend for MLB stadiums, Camden Yards will see its left field wall heightened from seven feet to around 12 from the foul pole to the bullpens in left-center field and moved back about 30 feet from its 333 distance down the line.

The move is an attempt to thwart the ballpark’s reputation for being home-run-friendly. In fact, Camden Yards saw the most dingers in 2021:

  1. Camden Yards, 277
  2. Great American Ball Park (Reds), 250
  3. Wrigley Field (Cubs), 242
  4. Target Field (Twins), 233
  5. Dodger Stadium (Dodgers), 231
