Tuesday’s WNBA game between the Atlanta Dream and Golden State Valkyries came to a stop when a neon green sex toy was launched onto the court in the game’s final minute.
With 42.5 seconds remaining and the score tied at 75, Atlanta guard Maya Caldwell stuffed a three-point attempt from Tiffany Hayes. The crowd roared, but not in the same way as the Crypto.com Arena for Cameron Brink’s return. Confusion quickly followed as referees Charles Watson and Angel Kent blew the whistle and stopped the action.
Cameras zoomed in, revealing an object that nobody expected, which turned out to be a bright green adult toy lying near the sideline. “That is a first,” one stunned broadcaster said, as game footage showed the object bouncing across the hardwood mid-play.
“We don’t play that. There’s no room for that, ever,” said the commentary team.

This is just the latest odd fan moment in the WNBA, a day after a spectator heckled the Phoenix Mercury’s Kahleah Copper after her wig fell off against the Washington Mystics.
Play-by-play commentary described the object as something green that was launched, uncertain of origin, but noted the object remained underneath a seat as the game was not initially stopped.
Security swarmed the section of the Gateway Center where the item originated, with 3,265 fans in attendance witnessing the disruption. The commentary team urged security to find the source of the offensive gesture and immediately remove them from the arena.
Replay footage showed the object descending from the sky onto the court, bouncing on impact from the foul line, and skidding toward the sideline. Cameras also caught Jordin Canada’s shocked reaction after witnessing what happened.
“The most important thing when you come to see your favorite W players take the floor is keeping them safe,” said an announcer team member.
