DALLAS, TEXAS - SEPTEMBER 16: Denis Gurianov #34 of the Dallas Stars during a NHL preseason game at American Airlines Center on September 16, 2019 in Dallas, Texas
On Thursday night, the Dallas Stars wrapped up their first-round series against the Calgary Flames in game six with a 7-3 outing behind a four-goal outing from wing Denis Gurianov. After being down three goals only six and a half minutes into a game Dallas, became the first team in NHL playoff history to go from a three-goal deficit to a four-goal lead. “It was one of those moments where I think everyone understood it was, we haven’t played our game. We’re seeing their best game,” Joe Pavelski said. “It was a good timeout as far as catch your breath let’s try to get back to our game then.”
While this was a remarkable comeback for Dallas, it is a gut-wrenching loss for Calgary, who blew their chance to tie the series at three and head to a game seven. “I personally feel empty. You wonder what happened,” Flames center Mikael Backlund. “Things just turned so quickly. We just couldn’t stop the bleeding. It happened so quick. It’s hard right now.”
