Rookie defensive end Chase Young had an amazing performance versus the San Francisco 49ers. He performed so well that his mother interrupted his post-game conference to praise him.
The Washington Football Team rookie recorded a tackle, forced a fumble and a touchdown to help Washington beat the 49ers 23 to 15. Young was part of the defense that was able to hold off the 49ers’ offense to allow Washington to hold on to a win.
San Francisco offense outplayed Washingtons’ offense as the 49ers were able to gain 344 total yards to Washingtons’ 193 total yards. The 49ers outrushed their opponent with 108 to Washington’s mere 98 rushing yards. In passing yards, it was the 49ers with 236 yards to Washington’s 95 yards.
Just from those numbers it would have seemed that San Francisco came out with a win but, that is not the case. Young and fellow defensive teammates were able to force turnovers that helped their team to win. Young forced a fumble that led to a field goal in favor of Washington. In addition, the rookie was able to gain a defensive touchdown and sacks to help them.
