Warriors Vs. Spurs (March 8, 2018) Preview: Game Time Start, TV Channel Info

The Golden State Warriors will conclude their brief two-game home-stand when they host the San Antonio Spurs on Thursday night.

Warriors vs. Spurs game preview

The defending NBA champion Warriors defeated Brooklyn 114-101 on Tuesday night to clinch their fifth-straight 50-win season. That evening, Golden State went on a 29-2 run, including a stretch in which they scored 25 straight points, the longest run with no points allowed in the Steve Kerr era.

Thursday’s matchup will be the third of four between the Dubs and Spurs this season. Golden State (50-14, second in Western Conference) won the first two.

The Warriors trail the West-leading Houston Rockets by just one game. San Antonio (37-27, fifth in West) has won at least 50 games in each of the last 18 seasons (thus establishing an NBA record). The Spurs are 1.5 games behind Portland in third, but only three games ahead of Utah in 10th.

Kawhi Leonard remains out with a quad injury and has appeared in only nine games this season, placing a heavier scoring burden on LaMarcus Aldridge, who leads San Antonio with an average of 22.2 points per game.

On the Warriors’ side, second-year shooting guard Patrick McCaw is out with a non-displaced fracture in his left wrist.

Thursday’s game will begin at 7:30 pm local time (10:30 pm EST) and will air on TNT. The Warriors have won their previous two games against the Spurs this season by an average of 18.5 points per game.
