UEFA Awards & Champions League Draw: Robert Lewandowski Wins Men’s Player Of The Year

In Switzerland , the UEFA awards for the 2019/20 season and the Champions League 2020/21 campaign draw took place.

Bayern Munich dominated the awards with striker Robert Lewandowski winning the Men’s Player of the Year and Forward of the UEFA Champions League season, Joshua Kimmich winning Defender of the UEFA Champions League season, Manuel Neuer winning Goalkeeper of the UEFA Champions League season and Hansi Flick winning Men’s Coach of the Year.

Belgium international footballers also scooped some awards. Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne won Midfielder of the Season and Inter Milan’s Romelu Lukaku won the Europa League Player of the Season.

Chelsea’s Pernille Harder was awarded the Women’s Player of the Year and Lyon’s Jean-Luc Vasseur was awarded the Women’s Coach of the Year.

During the Champions League 2020/21 draw, 32 teams were divided among eight groups. Group A contains ​Bayern Munich, Atlético Madrid, Salzburg, Lokomotiv Moskva. Group B contains Real Madrid, Shakhtar Donetsk, Inter Milan and Borussia Mönchengladbach. Group C contains Porto, Manchester City, Olympiacos and Marseille.

Group D contains Liverpool, Atalanta, Ajax and Midtjylland. Group E contains Chelsea, Sevilla, Krasnodar and Rennes. Group F contains Zenit Saint Petersburg , Borussia Dortmund, Lazio and Club Brugge. Group G contains Barcelona, Juventus, Ferencváros and Dynamo Kyiv. Lastly, Group H contains PSG, Leipzig, Manchester United and İstanbul Başakşehir.

In each group, each of the four teams will face one another. From each group, the two teams who have the highest points will advance to the next round.

After the group stage matches are completed, another draw will be held to announce which teams will face one another in the next round of the competition.

According to the draws, there are many exciting group stage matches like FC Barcelona vs. Juventus, PSG vs. Manchester United, Liverpool vs. Atalanta and Atletico Madrid vs. Bayern Munich.
