Bayern Munich Star Kimmich Saves The Day In German Super Cup Final

In Wednesday’s German Super Cup final, Bayern Munich’s Joshua Kimmich scored the winning goal against Borussia Dortmund to help his club win the cup.

The match was full of unexpected events. In the early minutes of the game, Bayern Munich’s Corentin Tolisso scored the game’s first goal. Shortly after, Bayern Munich’s Thomas Muller scored a second goal assisted by Alphonso Davies.

Minutes before the first half ended, Borussia Dortmund’s Julian Brandt grasped one goal assisted by Erling Haland. The first half ended with Bayern Munich winning 2-1.

In the beginning of the second half, Borussia Dortmund’s Haaland scored a goal assisted by Thomas Delaney to equalize the score. Borussia Dortmund’s comeback in the game lasted until Bayern Munich’s Joshua Kimmich scored in the last minutes of the game to seal a victory for his side.

This is not the first time Kimmich stars in a match. The German right-back has proven to be among the best players in the world. He is a key player for both his club and country.

After the game, Kimmich received praise from many viewers and football professionals. His teammate Manuel Neuer said, “That was will and talent at the same time.”

Bayern Munich coach Hansi Flick told reporters, “​As long as I’ve known him, his mentality has been very special. He is well on his way to being one of those players who shapes this team and this club.”

By winning the German Super Cup, Bayern Munich have now won their fifth trophy of the season. Individually, Kimmich has recently won the UEFA Defender of the Season award.

This season, Bayern Munich are favorites to retain the Bundesliga, German Cup and German Super Cup. They are also among the favorites to win the UEFA Champions League.
In the upcoming Bundesliga match, the Bavarian club will face Hertha BSC at the Allianz Arena.
