Last week, The Athletic released its annual “Anonymous NBA player poll,” which got responses from 158 players across 30 teams to answer questions related to the NBA.
One question that received the most attention: Who is the most overrated player in the NBA?
Amongst his peers, Indiana Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton was named the most overrated player in the league. 14.4%, or 13 of the 90 players who chose to vote on the question, named Haliburton the most overrated player in the NBA.
Thirty-three different players received votes for the “award.” Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jimmy Butler and LeBron James were among the players who also received votes.

Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle was not a fan of the poll. After seeing his star player being called overrated by his peers, Carlisle spoke his mind.
“This is a bulls— poll,” Carlisle said. “I want to see the faces of the guys who voted those guys.”
Haliburton and the Pacers finished the season 50-32, finishing fourth in the Eastern Conference.
His title didn’t faze Haliburton as the most overrated player.
“I must be doing something right if that’s the case,” Haliburton said. “I’m good. I could care less.”
On Tuesday night, Haliburton got the last laugh when he scored the series-winning shot against the Bucks.
