Cowboys Considering Trade For Maxx Crosby

Cowboys Wire beat reporter K.D. Drummond believes the Dallas Cowboys are trying to trade for Maxx Crosby.

Crosby was originally traded to the Baltimore Ravens, but the trade was canceled after Crosby failed a physical. Despite this, many teams are trying to trade for Crosby.

“It is my belief the Cowboys are focused on adding talent to the front of their defense for 2026 and beyond,” Drummond said.

Drummond’s mock draft includes the Cowboys giving up the No. 20 overall pick and a 2026 third-round pick for Crosby. This is less than what the Ravens originally traded for Crosby. The Ravens’ proposed package had them giving up their 2026 and 2027 first-round picks.

If the Cowboys had to give up a 2027 first-round pick, they’d be in a unique position to do so. The Cowboys currently own two first-round picks in the 2027 NFL Draft. They own the Green Bay Packers’ 2027 first-round pick and have a pick swap with the New York Jets. The Jets will get the most favorable pick between their pick and the Cowboys’. Most early projections have the Jets with a worse record than the Cowboys.

Regardless, this means the Cowboys have two possible first-round picks to trade. If they traded the No. 20 overall pick this season and the Packers’ 2027 first-round pick, that could be a good enough deal for the Raiders to accept. This would essentially mean that the Cowboys traded Micah Parsons for Crosby.

Even if the Cowboys trade away their No. 20 overall pick, they still own the No. 12 overall pick. Most draft projections have the Cowboys selecting cornerback Avieon Terrell from Clemson. Terrell is known for fitting well into the zone defense that the Cowboys’ defensive coordinator, Christian Parker, runs often.

The 2026 NFL Draft will begin on April 23 in Pittsburgh.
